Checks and Roses is a joint venture between four of us who love to craft, adore vintage and feel we could share these passions with the world!

There's definitely been a resurgence of interest in craft in the last few years, and between us we cover most crafty things! Handmade stuff is fabulous, but we think people should be able to make things for themselves as well as buying them... hence our kits and our workshops.

I have been sewing ever since I was able, at five years old, to stitch my skirt to a bookmark that I was creating at the time. Fortunately, my skills have progressed since then!
Along the way I have made everything from curtains, wedding dresses and a particularly popular line of black 'Batman' capes that I ended up making for my son and all his friends.
I have a passion for bags, old linen, smooth, floral fabrics, vintage buttons... in fact I just love it all!

I have been making and collecting things my whole life, from bells to model horses to buttons... I can chatter for England and I'm a massive advocate of crafting in public (!). Cross stitch, making jewellery and decoupage are my favourite ways to while away hours, but I've recently started creating altered books and learned to crochet...
I'm responsible for all the technical whizzy bits (our website, blog, social media etc) and I love photography - so I'm a geek and a crafter!

Sharon is our resident knitting genius. She's rarely to be found without needles and yarn and can follow fabulously complicated patterns while talking at the same time.
She is an accomplished shopper with a collection of gorgeous shoes, and sends the rest of the checks and Roses team shopping alerts by text :) She also succeeded in teaching Carla to knit where many others had failed!

Naomi could almost definitely open her own vintage china hire business! She loves all things vintage and retro and is the mistress of wearing properly red lipstick, properly.
She has a number of crafty strings to her bow including teaching crochet, and she also loves old books and jewellery.
